The Akrus Mammography and Biopsy Chair is versatile and ergonomically designed, offering flexibility with patient comfort in mind, all within a small footprint. It allows a variety of positioning options, including upright and decubitus in all mammography projections that provide magnification views.
Multiple Positions, Ergonomic & Functional
A technically and ergonomically advanced patient treatment chair designed with transport and positioning in mind. The chair is suitable for both mammography screenings and stereotactic and tomosynthetic breast biopsies in a very comfortable and gentle lateral decubitus position. The adjustable back rest, fold out back segments and headrest ideally support any position for these procedures.

Electric UP-Down Control
The electric, height-adjustable chair can be set to an ergonomically favourable working level for the operator. The height is controlled by two easily accessible footswitches on either side of the chair, leaving your hands free to take care of your patient.
Variable Backrest & Leg Support
Akrus can be used as a chair or a stretcher. The infinitely adjustable backrest and leg support offer maximum patient comfort and positioning, especially for biopsies in decubitus. The leg support is synchronised with the backrest.
Foldaway Shoulder Sections
The dropdown shoulder sections support a very stable yet comfortable lateral decubitus position, and serve as a safe armrest during breast biopsy procedures.
Mobile & Without Cables
4 heavy duty dual castors make the chair easily manoeuvrable, and it has 3 break settings. It can be used to transport patients without the need to transfer them to another device. The chair is totally mobile, with no disturbing electric cables on the floor.
Safety Switch
A foot operated safety switch ensures a safe biopsy procedure. The switch reliably prevents any unwanted movement during the biopsy.
Trendelenburg (Shock) Position
In case of an emergency, the Trendelenburg (shock) position is instantly available. Release levers are under the seat cushion on either side of the chair.
Multiple Colours Available
Choose from 16 standard colours: white, lilac, yellow, mint, creme, blue-grey, orange, turquoise, sand, cornflower, red, charcoal, pearl, midnight blue, brown and black. Special colours upon request.
Foldaway Footrest
A foldaway foot support provides a safe footrest to smaller patients. Fold up in stretcher configuration and fold out in the chair configuration.
Adjustable Headrest
The vertically adjustable headrest (backrest horizontal) provides maximum comfort and safe head support in a seated, lateral decubitus position.
